According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid underwent surgery Saturday to repair an orbital fracture in his face.
Wojnarowski reports that Embiid could return in two weeks. He was given a two-to-four week timetable, but his return is dependent upon his pain tolerance. He will need to be cleared by doctors to return, and Richaun Holmes, as well as Amir Johnson, will be asked to fill in during his absence. Ben Simmons could carry a heavier offensive load as well.
Over 63 starts, Embiid has averaged 22.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 blocks in 30.3 minutes per game this season.
