College Basketball's Elite 8 Freshman During the 2016-17 Season So Far
Which youngsters have been the most valuable to their team at this point when using advanced statistics?

6. Bam Adebayo, Kentucky Wildcats

Through 14 games, Bam Adebayo is right around where everyone expected the fifth-ranked recruit to be. With 2.1 win shares and .231 win shares per 40, he rates a single spot lower.

In 26 minutes per game, he's scoring 13.2 points, grabbing 7.4 rebounds and swatting 1.9 shots a game. Those are some big-time and big-man numbers, but there's much more to it.

We wouldn't know it from that video but Bam's 6'10" and weights in at 260 pounds. He's a power forward/center combo with the athleticism of a guard, plus outstanding shot-blocking ability.
