Xavier scored their second big upset of the weekend when they faced the 3 seed in the West, Florida State, on Saturday night.
The Musketeers entered play with just a 23.47 percent chance to upset the Seminoles, but got to work quickly, jumping out to a 25-10 lead halfway through the first half. Florida State briefly closed the gap to five, but that was as close as they got.
The Xavier lead hovered around 10 points for the first half of the second half, but it jumped to 21 at the blink of an eye thanks to a lightning-quick Xavier run. Florida State was never able to recover as Musketeers guard Trevon Bluiett dropped 29 points on the Seminoles en route to a Sweet 16 berth.
