The Iowa Hawkeyes are slipping and sliding into the NCAA Tournament. Iowa lost four straight to close their regular season, and they failed to build momentum in the Big 10 Conference Tournament by winning just one game before getting blown out by the Michigan Wolverines.
Other than an overtime loss at Nebraska, all of those five defeats were by double-digits, and two of them were to non-tournament teams. The losing streak began with head coach Fran McCaffery's expletive-filled tirade against officials in a loss against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Coach McCaffery was suspended for two games for the outburst, and this Iowa team hasn't looked the same since. They'll get a tough task in the first round, facing the Cincinnati Bearcats in the first round in Columbus, Ohio.
