10 Players Who Can Take Over the 2019 NCAA Tournament

Cassius Winston, Michigan State Spartans

Cassius Winston is unlike most players you have either seen dominate a tournament or would expect to do so this year. The junior point guard looks to facilitate and dish out assists first, and his efficient scoring just follows.

Don't get me wrong though; Winston leads the Michigan State Spartans in scoring (18.9 a game). In fact, he does so on 47.2% shooting from the field and an elite 40.4% from three. But he's the epitome of a playmaker, using 28.4% of the team's offensive possessions and turning that into 686 points produced via scoring and assists. Winston's passing prowess has amounted to 7.6 assists per game -- third in the nation -- and his 46.2% assist rate is second.

Tom Izzo's squad opens up tourney play against Bradley. However, they draw the strongest top seed in Duke, and a potential matchup with Louisville is on the horizon. If the 2-seeded Spartans want to avoid another early-round exit, they'll need their point man to be at his best.
