Ranking the 5 Best Conferences in College Basketball
Which conference is best from top-to-bottom in the nation?

ACC

Average Team nERD: 9.18

This may come as a surprise to many, but the ACC is just the third-best conference in college basketball.

However, it's a very close third -- just .69 points behind the Big East's nERD of 9.87. But the ACC's win percentage of 64% is actually higher than that of the Big East.

Among the ACC's 15 teams, the conference has four of the top-25 offenses in the country and two of the top-10 defenses in the country.

As a result, the ACC maintains seven of the top 50 spots in our power rankings and seven tournament-caliber teams. Most notably, we project North Carolina as a three-seed, Duke and Louisville as two-seeds, and Virginia as a one-seed.
