Brandon Marshall has double-digit touchdowns in three of his past four seasons, and he only played 13 games (and scored 8 touchdowns) in that "down" year.
Joining the New York Jets last year, Marshall saw a big boost to his production, and he scored a career-high 14 touchdowns, which also tied for the league lead.
He's seen consistently high usage in the red zone and on the goal line, regardless of what team he is on, and he ranks fourth among active receivers in red zone targets over the past three seasons (with 66) and third in goal line targets (37). He has also been consistently efficient with those targets:
Year | Red Zone Touchdown Rate | Goal Line Touchdown Rate |
---|---|---|
2013 | 37.50% | 43.75% |
2014 | 35.29% | 44.44% |
2015 | 40% | 33.33% |
Over that three-year span, the league average for red zone touchdown rate is 24.30% and, for goal line touchdown rate, is 35.95%.
Only Antonio Gates has more red zone receiving touchdowns than Marshall's 58 since he came into the league. He has proven himself consistently and over a long timeline to be a dangerous red zone threat, and coming off of what may have been the best season of his career, Marshall is a safe bet to post yet another big touchdown total.
