I laid out the reasons why Delanie Walker could struggle to repeat his TE2 finish from a year ago earlier this offseason, and even with the recent departure of Dorial Green-Beckham, I still feel solid about it. Tajae Sharpe is emerging, Rishard Matthews is no slouch, and the additions of DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry will likely shift the Titans’ pass-to-run ratio towards a more ground-oriented attack.
Given the mid-tier morass at the tight end position this season, it’s possible Walker proves me wrong. But I’m willing to bet against a 32-year-old tight end with only three seasons of viable production on his resume facing an almost certain downturn in target opportunity -- the Titans will be more run-heavy this year, and there's more competition for targets in the offense.
