For the first time in roughly three decades, we finally got some clarity on Ladarius Green's status with the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday.
Pittsburgh placed TE Ladarius Green on the Reserve/PUP List. Ineligible to practice or join the active roster until after Week 6

Again, injury news was unkind and downright rotten yesterday. Still, this does open a door for the ultra-intriguing Jesse James.
James worked with the first-team offense in their third preseason game, turning 5 targets into 4 receptions for 25 yards and a 5-yard touchdown. Perhaps more importantly, though, his snap count confirmed that the team is giving him a legit chance to thrive.
Ben played 19 snaps last week. TE snaps Jesse James 16, Xavier Grimble 3. James saw 4 targets, scored TD in span. https://t.co/h4DQeo1YdE

With Green out, James is going to be the main option at the position within the offense. We shouldn't expect their usual levels of efficiency with Martavis Bryant, Le'Veon Bell, and now Green out of the fold to start the season, but this is still a quality unit. Getting a free tight end in this type of situation is drool-worthy.
