High-Cost Option: Julio Jones ($9,400)
In a juicy matchup against rookie Vernon Hargreaves, Julio Jones has a very realistic shot at being this week's highest scoring wide receiver. From our NFC South Fantasy Football Preview, we learned that:
1) Jones was just one of three receivers to garner at least 30% of his team's passing targets last season.
2) He led all receivers with a whopping 203 targets on the year.
3) His 136 receptions tied Antonio Brown for the league lead.
Jones should feast in this Week 1 matchup at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jones should once again see a sizable target market share in this game, and considering Tampa Bay allowed the fifth-most receiving touchdowns to receivers last year, the matchup is ripe.
Mid-Cost Option: Eric Decker ($6,600)
Last year, Eric Decker was one of the league's most consistent wide receivers. He provided a safe floor each week, scoring a touchdown in 12 of 15 games while providing steady fantasy value. Decker ended up leading the league in red zone targets last year, and he will likely see a lot of Darqueze Dennard in this week's clash with the Cincinnati Bengals. Dennard struggled last season, allowing 0.46 fantasy points per route defended, according to ProFootballFocus, the second-worst rate among all cornerbacks.
Low-Cost Option: Marvin Jones ($4,600)
One of the most egregious pricing errors for Week 1, DraftKings is daring us to take Marvin Jones at his $4,600 salary. We've covered Jones' potential ceiling extensively this offseason, and Jones has the potential to hit his stride early in a matchup against Indianapolis. The Colts' depleted secondary of Antonio Cromartie and Patrick Robinson should be exploitable for Matthew Stafford. Last year, the Colts gave up the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers and will start short-handed without Vontae Davis, their top corner. In 2015, Stafford was on fire in the red zone, leading all quarterbacks in passing touchdowns without throwing a single interception inside the 20. The price and matchup are too difficult to pass up.
Other options to consider: DeAndre Hopkins ($8.800), Jordan Matthews ($6,700), DeSean Jackson ($6,100), Michael Crabtree ($5,500), Willie Snead ($4,800), Kamar Aiken ($4,700)
