8 NFL FanDuel Studs to Target in Week 1
Drew Brees and the Saints should light it up in Week 1. Who else is worth paying up for?

DeAngelo Williams, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

FanDuel Price: $7,100
Projected Points: 16.40

Here’s another case of a running back’s fortune changing since this time last year. DeAngelo Williams was brought into Pittsburgh last offseason to back up Le'Veon Bell but was forced into starting action in Week 1 and proved that he is very capable of being a starter. Williams racked up double-digit fantasy points in seven of the eight games in which he received 10 or more carries last season and even led all running backs in fantasy points in two separate games.

His 0.80 fantasy points per carry ranked fourth among all running backs in 2015, and his 0.07 Rushing NEP per carry was third among all running backs with at least 100 carries.

Due to Bell being suspended, Williams is back in the starting role again this week, and the matchup looks great. The Steelers have the third-highest implied team total on the board in a game with a 50-point over/under. The opponent is the Washington Redskins, who ranked 21st in fantasy points allowed to running backs last season.

Our algorithm projects Williams to have the second-highest fantasy total of any running back this week, and at $1,700 less than Johnson, he is also our best value at the position in terms of FanDuel points per dollar.
