The Buffalo Bills came out of Baltimore in Week 1 with a loss, but the defense performed well. They sacked Joe Flacco 4 times, held the Ravens to only 13 points, and recovered a fumble en route to a top-five scoring week as a team defense.

In Week 2, the Bills play host to the New York Jets in the Thursday night game, which are notoriously low scoring. Vegas is projecting this to be one of the lowest scoring games of the week with a projected point total of 40.5. The Bills are listed as 1.5-point favorites.

The Bills found success against their division rival in each of their two matchups last season, prevailing in each 22-17.

In the first game, in Week 9, the Bills' defense dominated, sacking Ryan Fitzpatrick once, forcing two interceptions and recovering two fumbles en route to three defensive scores. The Bills finished as fantasy's number-one defense that week. In their Week 17 matchup, the Bills once again got after Fitzpatrick, sacking him once and forcing three interceptions in a top-15 scoring performance.

The Jets are coming off a loss against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, where Fitzpatrick completed 19 of 35 attempts for 189 yards, 2 touchdowns, and an interception. He was also sacked once.

Now, heading on the road on a short week to face a division rival, Fitzpatrick and the Jets provide the Bills another strong opportunity to be a top-scoring defense.
