FanDuel Price: $9,200
Projected Points: 24.10
Drew Brees was one of our Week 1 studs, and he did not disappoint. His 31.42 fantasy points were the second most in the league behind only Andrew Luck, and he actually led the league with 0.8 fantasy points per drop back. Brees completed 28 of 42 passed for 423 yards and 4 touchdowns with no interceptions in the New Orleans Saints opening-game loss to the Oakland Raiders.
For the second week in a row, the Saints are in a game with the highest over/under (53), this time against the New York Giants. In last year’s meeting with the Giants, Brees set a new career high with 44.30 fantasy points on 50 passing attempts. We project him to attempt 40.23 passes in this game, with the Saints pegged as 4.5-point underdogs.
The Giants held Dak Prescott to 227 yards passing and no touchdowns last week, but that was a rookie making his first start in the NFL – a far cry from Brees, who has led the NFL in passing yards in four the past five seasons.
