Donte Moncrief is going to miss at least four to six weeks with a broken scapula. Our own Anthony Amico talked about a possible breakout season for Phillip Dorsett back in July, and this weekend, he will get his chance as he is slated to start alongside T.Y. Hilton.
Dorsett caught only 18 passes as a rookie, so we don't have any utilizable Vegas trends for him.
However, Dorsett should be in line for ample opportunity based on his quarterback's career as a favorite in games with high totals.
The current total between the Indianapolis Colts and the San Diego Chargers is 51.5. Through Andrew Luck's career in games with totals of 51.5 points or more, he averaged 26.64 standard fantasy points per game, which is 2.5 points higher than his career average in all games. I'd recommend Luck as a play, but his price is still too steep in daily fantasy football.
In addition to the high average for Luck, he has also attempted about four more passes per game than his career average in games with a total of 51.5 or higher.
Hilton was the beneficiary of some of these games, averaging 15.72 PPR points per game when the Colts are favored in his career, which is five points higher than his average as an underdog. While Dorsett may not possess the talent that Hilton has, he certainly should be given the opportunity.
Dorsett is cheap on FanDuel, priced at $6,000, which ranks 49th among wide receivers. This cheap price makes him a perfect upside play in tournaments.
