Through four games, Isaiah Crowell has been more efficient than any other running back with 30 or more carries, checking in with a Rushing NEP per carry clip of 0.19. In Crowell’s first two seasons, his Rushing NEP per carry was -0.03 and -0.06, respectively.
Crowell has benefited from some surprisingly not-negative game scripts for the Cleveland Browns. He has at least 12 carries in each game thus far. Teammate and passing-game weapon Duke Johnson has only 24 carries through the first four games, and his -0.04 Rushing NEP per carry ranks 27th.
Crowell is averaging 6.5 yards per carry, and he is the only running back in the NFL to average more than seven yards per carry in two separate games this season. He has also found the end zone in three of four games, and Crowell ranks 5th among all running backs with 62.70 fantasy points.
Crowell's success has come despite playing two games against teams have allowed the second- and third -least fantasy points to opposing running backs this season. Next up is the New England Patriots, who have given up 10 or more fantasy points to each back with double digit carries against them this year.
