Fantasy Football: Redrafting the First Round After 5 Weeks
With the opportunity to redraft the first round of your fantasy draft, which players should round out the top 12?

12. Odell Beckham Jr., WR, New York Giants

We conclude our first round redraft with the least valuable and least efficient player on this list by far in Odell Beckham. Really, he makes it on volume and reputation alone, but I'm not ready to exclude him from the first round just yet.

On the bright side, Beckham is 6th in the NFL in targets (51) and 11th in receptions (27), but he just hasn't scored the touchdowns or had the big plays needed to move him from solid to spectacular. Despite his high target volume, he's just 17th in yards (359) and 26th in fantasy points.

This is certainly a projection, and I wouldn't fault anyone for passing on him to take more productive players such as Carlos Hyde, Larry Fitzgerald or Devonta Freeman.

Still, unless Eli Manning continues playing like Alex Smith, it's unlikely that Beckham stays this ineffective for the entire season. I'm willing to bet on that, but it certainly is a gamble.

Currently, Beckham is having a very Jarvis Landry-like season, with the two posting almost identical Reception NEP scores (24.90 to 24.63) and similar Reception NEP per target scores (0.48 to 0.51). Both of these demonstrate their consistency as possession options who have struggled to generate explosive plays or touchdowns.

While Beckham is certainly risky, he hasn't been unproductive. He simply hasn't been the dominant player we have come to love. But based on what I've seen, much better days are ahead.
