For the third week in a row, the Los Angeles Rams were a part of the top analytical highlight of the week in this column. This time, however, they were on the wrong end of that highlight play. Quarterback Case Keenum is proving with each passing week that he’s just a placeholder for Once and Future Starter Jared Goff.
Keenum showed his exemplary ability to execute a Jeff Fisher offense once again in Week 5, as he dropped back on second-and-long with two wide receivers to his right. It was a simple out route that wideout Pharoh Cooper needed to run, but he allowed Buffalo Bills covering cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman to jump the route. Keenum didn’t see NRC creeping down and tossed in a floater of a pass that Nickell easily snagged in stride. He raced back along the sideline and was high-stepping ten yards out of the end zone, it was so easy.
From that point on, the Bills tromped all over the hapless Rams in the 2016 Ungulate Bowl. As bad as they are, with three weeks in the top spot of this column you cannot say the Rams aren’t exciting to watch.
