Week 6 comes in stark contrast to the previous few weeks, where our most impactful plays were big, but not monumentally so. In Week 4, the highest WP change of any top-10 play was a paltry +20.68, and no play of ours earned over a +7.00 NEP. In Week 6, however, we are quite spoiled for big plays, and it starts with a tremendous underdog story authored by Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Arrelious Benn.
With less than three minutes to go, the Jaguars were a touchdown back of the Chicago Bears. They lined up with four wide receivers, just outside Bears’ territory. Benn, the lone wideout flanking the right side, ran a 15-yard in route and snagged the pass coming his way, sliding to the ground. He realized that his cover man slipped, too, and never touched him, so Benn scrambled to his feet and hustled into the end zone for just his first touchdown since 2011. The 28-year-old Benn hadn’t even been targeted on an NFL pass prior to this season since 2012.
