Oh, Los Angeles Rams, how we’ve missed thee at the top of our impact plays; let us count the ways. It only took one brief week, but the Rams show up in our top spot once again, and once again it’s the zany antics of quarterback Case Keenum that get them here. In a game where the Rams didn’t trail for most of the day, Keenum threw the ball an inexplicable 53 times. Four of those happened to be interceptions, and this was the big one.
New York Giants strong safety Landon Collins was able to pick off two Keenum passes, but his first one came in the second quarter, with a touchdown deficit between the teams. Keenum stared down top receiver Tavon Austin and fired a bullet pass across the middle. It clanged off Austin’s hands and into the air, where Collins snatched it. After slipping two tackles, he shook two more and worked across the field, keeping his balance time and time again as he tromped his way into the end zone for a 51-yard interception return and score.
