Plugging the Gaps: IDP Waiver Wire for Week 8
David Harris might run like a dad, but he brings legitimate fantasy appeal for Week 8.

De’Vondre Campbell, Weak-Side Linebacker

It’s been an off year for IDP rookies in 2016, some holding out, some injured, and some just performing poorly. The Atlanta Falcons did a great job with their selections of mid-round linebacker talent, though, notably acquiring weak-side linebacker De'Vondre Campbell. In the two games where he played at least 85 percent of the snaps (Week 1 and Week 7), Campbell averaged seven total tackles and just under 10 fantasy points. His 11 percent tackle rate is 48th among the 118 linebackers to play at least 30 snaps per game, and he has two stuffs in those two games.

Campbell’s Week 8 opponents are the Green Bay Packers, and while the Packers don’t run a ton in their new structure, they will use a ton of dump-off passes short to wide receivers Randall Cobb and Ty Montgomery. Expect Campbell to draw the matchup on whoever is lined up in the backfield this week; he has the coverage skills and raw speed to run with receivers.

Campbell is available in 98.6% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 4.64 tackles, 0.02 sacks, 0.12 passes defended, and a total score of 5.14 fantasy points in Week 8.
