Week 14: vs. Washington
Week 15: at Baltimore
Week 16: vs. New York Giants
Carson Wentz is kind of the anti-Bortles. Ranked 14th in Passing NEP per drop back this year among signal callers with at least 100 drop backs, Wentz is having a nice rookie season, but that hasn't translated to much fantasy success. Wentz is 23rd in fantasy points per game with a per-game clip of 13.9 points, and he's scored a total of 13.48 fantasy points over the past two weeks.
One of those clunkers came against Washington -- who he'll see again in the first week of the fantasy playoffs -- while the other came at the hands of those QB-killing Vikings. Versus Washington in Week 6, Wentz completed 11 of 22 passes for 179 yards and no scores in a lousy 7.36-point outing. It wasn't an aberration for Washington as they're allowing the ninth-fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
The Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants have stout defenses, as well. The addition of Janoris Jenkins has been a boost to the Giants -- who rank 11th against the pass, per our metrics -- and the Ravens check in 7th in Adjusted Defensive NEP per play. New York and Baltimore allow the 8th- and 12th-fewest fantasy points, respectively, to quarterbacks.
Wentz hasn't been able to support a solid fantasy weapon. Jordan Matthews is WR36 in standard formats, and no other Philadelphia Eagles wideout is in the top 50. Zach Ertz has played in just four games, but he has a total of 13.1 fantasy points to his name.
Honestly, this is a passing game to avoid on pretty much a weekly basis, but that's definitely going to be the case in the fantasy postseason.
