When Jacquizz Rodgers was forced to leave the game because in Week 8 of a foot injury, Antone Smith -- signed just two weeks ago -- led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' backfield in snaps. He out-snapped Peyton Barber by a count of 22 to 3.

With a short turn around for Thursday Night Football, it's likely Rodgers could be unavailable and Smith would become the Bucs' top running back by default. It's not often a potential starting running back can be found on waivers in nearly 100 percent of leagues.

As only #NarrativeStreet would have it, Smith played five seasons for the Atlanta Falcons, his opponent on Thursday. While playing for the Falcons in 2014, Smith went four straight games with a touchdown of at least 38 yards. Atlanta has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points per game (23.2) to running backs this season.
