It’s been a rough career for former Alabama running backs in recent times. Eddie Lacy can’t stay in shape, Trent Richardson forgot how to play football, and New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram cannot hang onto the football (or the good graces of his coaching staff). In Week 7, Ingram put the ball on the ground at the end of the game, earning the ire of head coach Sean Payton.

Once again, only seven minutes into this game, Ingram took a plunge up the middle and got stood up behind his lineman. Instead of holding onto the ball and taking the loss, though, he fought forward and lost control, inadvertently tossing the ball in the air right into a group of Seattle Seahawks’ defenders. Safety Earl Thomas reacted immediately, snagging the loose ball out of midair and racing to the end zone for a takeaway score. Ingram was benched for the rest of the game.
