Week 14: vs. Atlanta
Week 15: at Seattle
Week 16: vs. San Francisco
Todd Gurley is currently the 22nd-ranked running back, scoring double-digit fantasy points -- in standard leagues -- just twice in seven games, but he can still win a lot of fantasy titles this year thanks to a favorable stretch-run schedule. Cushy home matchups with the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers are sandwiched around a difficult road game at the Seattle Seahawks.
The 49ers are a dream matchup. They have allowed the most fantasy points to running backs, and they also play at the league's fastest pace, meaning their games contain more plays for both them and their opponent. More plays means more chances to score fantasy points.
Atlanta is a pretty nice matchup, as well, as the Falcons have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to running backs. Atlanta and San Fran both rank in the bottom four in schedule-adjusted Defensive Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play, with the 49ers sitting dead last.
Seattle is a brutal spot for Gurley. The Seahawks are giving up the fourth-fewest points to running backs, and they're third in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play. With that said, in his one game against Seattle last year (he sat when the Rams played them in Week 1), Gurley ranked up 15 standard-league points with 90 total yards -- 83 rushing -- and a score.
Gurley hasn't been good, but that could work in your favor if you're trying to acquire him. If you have him, it's probably best to hold. Considering the wasteland that is the running back position right now, it's hard to justify selling low on Gurley, especially with San Francisco and Atlanta on tap in the playoffs.
