FanDuel Price: $6,700
Salary Change: Up $500
Mark Ingram scored an impressively awful -1.5 FanDuel points last week (yes, that’s a negative number) after he fumbled in the first quarter against the Seattle Seahawks and was benched for the remainder of the game.
Head coach Sean Payton said Mark Ingram will be back to contribute in Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers but that backup Tim Hightower has earned a role moving forward. Hightower rushed for over 100 yards against Seattle during Ingram’s demotion last week, and he’s seen the biggest price increase of any player on FanDuel this week -- his salary spiked $1,600.
San Francisco is allowing the most rushing attempts to running backs per game this season by a wide margin -- opposing running backs carry the ball 30 times a game against them, with Cleveland allowing the second-most at 27 attempts. The 49ers have also allowed the second-most FanDuel points to running backs this year, so even if Hightower steals some carries, Ingram will have plenty of opportunities to have a productive fantasy day.
Recency bias will cause Ingram to go under-owned on Sunday. Combine that with the high Vegas total of 52.5 points and his excellent matchup, and he’s an elite tournament play this weekend.
