Have you noticed a common theme for the three defenses in this column? This week, each of them will be facing quarterbacks that we project for 40-plus pass attempts. For the Detroit D/ST, they’re hosting Blake Bortles and the Jaguars, who we project for 40 pass attempts this weekend.

Despite the Jags’ recent offensive coordinator change, they still rank first in the NFL in passing percentage -- Bortles has dropped back to pass on 68 percent of their plays this season.

The more a team passes, the more opportunities there are for the opposing defense to generate sacks and turnovers. Being so pass-heavy, the Jags’ have committed two or more turnovers in 66 percent of their games this season. Until they change quarterbacks or their offensive philosophy, the opposing D/ST will have major upside every week.

The downside is obvious here, too -- Detroit sits as the 22nd-ranked defense in our projections this week. But given their matchup and their upside, that makes them a high-reward tournament option if you’re trying to differentiate your lineup.
