Another week, another interception thrown by Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles at a crucial point in the game. Early in the third quarter, the Jaguars’ offense was coming alive and finding its rhythm. They were tied with the Detroit Lions in what should’ve been an utter shootout, but turned out to be a bitter slugfest at 9-9. Per usual, the freewheeling antics of Bortles turned a close game into a nightmare spiral for the Jaguars’ hopes of a win.
Bortles took the snap, lined up deep inside their own territory on 3rd-and-7. He rifled the ball into double coverage on wide receiver Marqise Lee, who was bracketed by cornerback Johnson Bademosi and safety Rafael Bush. Bademosi knocked the ball into the air and out of Lee’s hands, while Bush played the tip drill and raced down the sideline for a pick-six.
