Jared Crick is one of the best number-two defensive ends in the NFL, and that is not a bad thing at all. The Denver Broncos knew they wanted him to support, not star, and Crick has done just that, proving startable by our marks in seven of 11 games this year and averaging 4.75 fantasy points per game over the past month. Crick’s not particularly a big-play guy (just 2.0 sacks and 3.0 stuffs on 648 snaps this year), nor efficient with his tackles (his 5.25 percent tackle rate is 33rd among 66 qualifying defensive ends). Still, the fact that he plays 82 percent of the Broncos’ defensive snaps combined with a league-average tackle rate gives him a solid points floor weekly.
His Week 13 opponents -- the Jacksonville Jaguars -- won’t offer much in the way of sacks, as they allow the 10th-lowest sack rate in the league. There is a sweet bonus potential, though: Jacksonville has the fifth-highest stuff rate allowed. Still, Crick doesn’t need big plays to anchor your fantasy defensive line this week.
Crick is available in 97.4% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 2.39 tackles, 0.25 sacks, and a total score of 3.90 fantasy points in Week 13.
