FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projections: 20.68 points allowed, 2.10 sacks, 1.54 turnovers, 0.22 touchdowns
After two disastrous defensive performances from the Green Bay Packers when they were slaughtered by injuries, they bounced back in Week 12 to put up 10 FanDuel points on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles. They finally got back Damarious Randall a week ago, bolstering their extremely thin secondary, and they’re hoping to get back inside linebackers Blake Martinez and Jake Ryan this weekend -- they’ve both been limited in practice through Wednesday.
This is the perfect time for their defense to get healthy, at least from a fantasy perspective. They’ have a fantastic matchup on Sunday when they host Brock Osweiler and the Houston Texans. Osweiler has failed to live up to his $72 million contract thus far, as he’s averaging more than one interception per game through 12 weeks.
Three defenses have posted monster performances against Houston this season -- San Diego with 13 FanDuel points last week, Minnesota with 16 in Week 5, and New England with 18 in Week 3. The Green Bay D/ST has an opportunity to add to this list as 6.5-home favorites this weekend. The Texans don’t have a super low team total this weekend, either (19.5), which is actually a good thing -- the more the Texans’ offense can stay on the field, the more chances Osweiler will have to make a mistake.
With New England only $100 more, Green Bay will probably be majorly under-owned in GPPs. Given their massive upside, that makes them a top-tier tournament option.
