Zach Ertz, TE, Philadelphia Eagles
6 Receptions, 80 Yards, 8 Targets
Performance: 75, NEP: +8.86
In a week without many standout tight end performances, Ertz was able to capture the top tight end ranking, per our Performance metric, for the second week in a row. Ertz caught 6 of 8 targets this week for 80 receiving yards.
The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the toughest foes for opposing tight ends, allowing just two touchdowns to the position on the season. Carson Wentz has been heavily relying on his tight ends over the past five weeks, with Philly's tight ends seeing a combined 89 targets and a 38.9% target market share.
Ertz has been the main beneficiary of this, accruing 53 of those 89 targets, and he had another standout performance this week for Philadelphia. Five of his six receptions this game were for first downs as he provided a reliable outlet for Wentz as a chain-moving weapon. Ertz now ranks eighth among all tight ends in Reception NEP, and he draws favorable matchups against the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys to end the season.
First downs don't translate to fantasy points as Ertz was outscored by many touchdown-scoring tight ends. He was still able to finish as the overall TE8 in PPR formats, and Ertz is currently averaging 11.6 points per game on the year.
