Fantasy Football: 5 Historical Vegas Trends You Should Know for Week 16
What do the odds say about Week 16 for certain players -- like Ben Roethlisberger's recent performance in games as a home favorite -- and how can your fantasy teams benefit?

Start Bilal Powell as an Underdog

This past Saturday, Bilal Powell racked up 11 receptions in a blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins. The New York Jets are expected to get blown out again as they find themselves as 16.5-point underdogs against the New England Patriots.

This is actually good news for Powell. Over the course of this season, he has actually outscored his running mate, Matt Forte, when the Jets were underdogs. When New York is expected to lose, Powell has averaged 10.42 half-PPR points per game while Forte has averaged just 7.66 half-PPR points per game.

Last week, Powell finished sixth among running backs with 21.7 fantasy points on FanDuel. He led the Jets in rushing attempts and receptions. It is likely that he leads the Jets in carries again, and if the game gets out of hand early, he could see plenty of receiving opportunities.

On top of all that, Forte may not play due to a shoulder injury, which would put Powell in line for a huge workload.

Powell is underpriced at $6,500 on FanDuel, tied for 17th among running backs, making him a safe option in cash games and tournaments.
