Total NEP: -5.10
Even if you aren't an NEP aficionado, you have to realize that a negative mark is not desirable. That's even more the case nowadays, with the increase in passing efficiency in recent seasons. The average drop back this season led to a 0.12 NEP boost for a team. For Brock Osweiler, he lost 0.04 points per drop back.
Only Jared Goff (-0.28) and Case Keenum (-0.05) were worse on a per-play basis among the 34 passers with at least 200 drop backs this season.
Osweiler did add 18.40 expected points on the ground, eighth-most among quarterbacks with at least 200 drop backs, but overall, he was a detriment to his Houston Texans during the regular season based on the analytics.
