The 25 Best NFL Running Back Seasons in the Last 25 Years
Which running backs lay claim to the best single-season performances in recent history?

14. Emmitt Smith, Dallas Cowboys (1993)

Like I said, the Cowboys won three Super Bowls in a four-year span. So, how could Smith only make the list twice? The third time's the charm, meaning '93 was Smith's very best season, all things considered. His AV of 20 says as much.

Running for 5.25 yards per carry, he racked up 1,486 rush yards in just 14 games. He scored 10 total touchdowns (9 rushing, 1 receiving), totaling 1,900 yards from scrimmage. For that, he was presented with the NFL's MVP Award.
