The 25 Best NFL Running Back Seasons in the Last 25 Years
Which running backs lay claim to the best single-season performances in recent history?

6. Terrell Davis, Denver Broncos (1998)

Terrell Davis is the first ball-carrier with an AV of 22, but falls just outside the top five. The joke is not on him, though. That very season, Davis won the NFL MVP award and the Super Bowl.

In his 4th season, Davis rushed for 5.12 yards per carry and 2,008 rushing yards. He also accrued 23 touchdowns and 2,225 total yards in his third and final Pro Bowl season.
