The 10 Worst Starting Running Backs From the 2016 NFL Season
Based on numberFire's Rushing Success Rate metric, these are last season's worst-performing starting running backs.

Devontae Booker, Denver Broncos

Rushing Success Rate: 36.21% (174 rushes, 63 successes)

As a rookie, Devontae Booker took on the role of Denver’s lead back after C.J. Anderson suffered a season-ending leg injury in Week 7.

Up to that point, Booker had logged 54 carries and was averaging 4.7 yards per attempt in a change-of-pace role. So it made sense that Booker had season-winning upside for fantasy owners lucky enough to snag him off the waiver wire.

Alas, Booker struggled to get anything going behind a banged-up Denver offensive line, averaging fewer than 3.4 yards per carry in Weeks 8 through 15. Clearly, Booker found it tough sledding, and he suffered an injury of his own which limited him down the stretch. He also lost three fumbles on the season.
