Re-Drafting the Running Backs From the 2008 NFL Draft Using Advanced Analytics
Would Darren McFadden still be the first rusher off the board?

5. Jonathan Stewart

CarAV: 46

Having exceeded a CarAV of 40, Jonathan Stewart is yet another step up the multi-rung ladder that is the 2008 running back class. As effective as he's been, Stewart has struggled with injuries and has never really put together a dynamite season.

In case you thought I was kidding, you'd be mistaken. Stewart has, on three occasions, tallied a season AV of 9. Those high points came in 2009, 2011 and 2015 -- the last of which earned the former Oregon Duck Pro Bowl honors for the first and only time in his career.

Spanning nine seasons with the Carolina Panthers, the veteran has tallied 6,638 rushing yards and 45 rushing touchdowns on 4.4 yards per attempt.
