Recapping All 32 NFL Draft Classes from 2017
Now that the dust has settled, let's dissect the draft haul for each team.

New England Patriots

Needs Entering Draft: RB, WR, IOL, OLB
Positions Drafted: OT, DE

The New England Patriots didn’t do a lot of drafting this year, instead swapping their picks for a ton of players. They needed a wide receiver, so they traded a first for Brandin Cooks. They needed a running back, so they signed Mike Gillislee in restricted free agency and gave up a fifth. They needed tight ends and traded for Dwayne Allen (fourth) and James O'Shaughnessy (sixth). In a not-so-impactful draft class, this was possibly the most impressive way to approach it.

They did make four selections, though: edge rushers Derek Rivers and Deatrich Wise, Jr. and offensive linemen Antonio Garcia and Conor McDermott. All were solid selections, all addressed need, and some even believed Rivers had a chance to go in the first round. Not bad, New England; not bad.
