The 1998 NFL season was the last of Faulk's time as a Colt. Before being traded the following offseason, he had the best of his campaigns in Indianapolis, posting 1,319 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

In his third Pro Bowl season and first since 1995, the 25-year-old amplified his numbers with 86 catches (on 106 targets), 908 yards and four touchdowns. Altogether, Faulk caught and scampered for 2,227 yards and 139.2 yards from scrimmage per game.
