Rookies are an unknown factor in fantasy football. We can attempt to predict roles and success, but the truth is that we only know what we've been told, read, or watched from their college days.
Luckily for you, we here at numberFire use our proprietary algorithms to project players' fantasy production. And that includes this year's fresh faces.
Leonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey and Joe Mixon are the most talked about rookies at the running back spot, but where do they rank among the top 10 first-year backs?
Using numberFire's Draft Kit (based on standard scoring), we'll look at the 10 most relevant rookie rushers based on FireFactor, our internal method of ranking players according to overall production and value over replacement. We'll also take a look at each player's projected statistics and fantasy points, as well as average draft position (ADP) from Fantasy Football Calculator's 12-team standard drafts.
