There are two other running backs you may have heard of in that New Orleans Saints backfield, and they're Adrian Peterson and Mark Ingram, both of whom probably will gain the majority of carries.
But Alvin Kamara, the third-round selection from Tennessee, could explode if given the chance.
In college, Kamara showed true potential as a three-down back -- over two seasons, he rushed 210 times for 1,294 yards and caught 74 passes for 683 yards. Nearly 2,000 yards from scrimmage ain't too shabby.
And while the Saints are mostly known for Drew Brees' passing attack, this is a squad that was highly effective on the ground. Using our Net Expected Points (NEP), the Saints ranked fourth last season in Rushing NEP per attempt (0.06).
Kamara tested well at the combine, too. Among running backs, he led all of them in the vertical and broad jump, and if given the right opportunity, he could make for a late-round steal.
