5 Fantasy Football Splits That Matter for Week 2

It's just as common for fantasy players to overanalyze matchups leading into Week 1 of the NFL season as it is to overanalyze the results that come from the action. It's overreaction Sunday! The name (albeit not a clever one) has stuck over the years for a reason.

But some matchup notes aren't just an overreaction. Will DeAndre Hopkins continue pacing for a 51 percent target share with Deshaun Watson under center? Probably not. After all, Mike Evans led the league with a 29.9 percent target share only one season ago. However, 24 targets for Hopkins (on 47 attempts none the less) over six quarters from the rookie is certainly worth tracking. That's not an overreaction. (It's just a hellacious number of targets.)

By now, you've also heard that rookie running back sensation Tarik Cohen collected 12 targets against an Atlanta Falcons defense that allowed the fourth-most fantasy points in PPR leagues to running backs last season, and that Ty Montgomery -- who recorded 90.2 percent of the Green Bay Packers' backfield snaps Sunday -- is about to eat. Again, not an overreaction. (No, really. He might genuinely eat.)

When we're trying to figure out certain matchups to exploit in Week 2, though, keep the following five topics in mind.
