Last week, the Green Bay Packers defense had a so-so game against Andy Dalton and the Bengals, but we can go back to the well with the Packers in Week 4 as they welcome the Chicago Bears to Lambeau Field on a short week.
The Packers have had no trouble generating pressure on opposing quarterbacks, ranking among the top eight in both sacks (9) and quarterback hits (19) through three weeks. As for the Bears, the offensive line has allowed the sixth-most hits on the quarterback (20), even though Mike Glennon has only been sacked seven times.
Glennon and the Bears offense has been far from explosive through three weeks -- they rank as the sixth-worst offense, per numberFire metrics -- and Glennon's shown things can fall apart quickly when he's forced to throw often. In a Week 2 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he put up a season-high 45 pass attempts and committed three turnovers in a 29-7 loss.
Vegas is projecting this Packers-Bears matchup to have a similar outcome as the Bears' Week 2 loss. Oddsmakers have the Packers listed as a seven-point favorite with the Bears' implied team total sitting at a lowly 19.25. Projected to be playing with a lead, the Packers defense could be in line for a big night against Glennon.
