NFL Award Predictions: First-Quarter Edition
Through the first four weeks of the season, who has jumped to the forefront for the NFL's most prestigious awards?

Defensive Player of the Year

Demarcus Lawrence, Dallas Cowboys

So far this season, Demarcus Lawrence has been an absolute game wrecker and has looked like one of the best defensive players in the NFL.

He leads the league with 7.5 sacks, which puts him on pace for a crazy 30 total sacks. In addition, he has 2 forced fumbles, and 16 solo tackles -- which, if kept on pace, would both exceed the numbers from last year's winner, Khalil Mack.

For perspective, we are only a quarter of the way through the season, and Lawrence is already halfway to Vic Beasley league-leading 15.5 sacks from 2016. Lawrence has more sacks than the Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dolphins.
