Rookie running back Elijah McGuire may be in line for more playing time after Bilal Powell left Sunday's game with a calf injury. With Powell sidelined, McGuire played the majority of snaps in the second half, but struggled to find much success against the Cleveland Browns. He finished with 11 carries for 20 yards and 2 receptions for 10 yards.
McGuire is just one week removed from a breakout performance against Jacksonville where he had 93 yards on 10 carries with a touchdown and 2 catches for 38 yards.
With Matt Forte still sidelined with a turf toe injury, McGuire would figure to pick up the majority of the carries in the Jets backfield if Powell missing any time moving forward. The Jets face the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and Atlanta Falcons over the next three weeks.
