Matt Breida is just about a must-add for Carlos Hyde owners. For the second week in a row, Hyde was in and out of the game with a hip injury, and Breida has continued to look impressive in limited work.
Against the Colts Sunday, he had 10 carries for 49 yards while adding 3 catches for another 22 yards. Meanwhile, Hyde had just 8 carries for 11 yards and 1 catch for 7 yards. Due to Hyde's injury, Breida actually played more snaps than Hyde (35-33).
If Hyde -- who's been averaging more than 20 touches per game -- is forced to the sideline because of his hip, Breida, an undrafted rookie out of Georgia Southern, has established himself as the clear guy backup to own in San Fran. Over the next three weeks, the Niners take a tour through the NFC East, playing the Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles -- in that order.
