Fantasy Football: 4 Things We Learned From Week 5
A slew of injuries at wide receiver for the New York Giants has thrust Roger Lewis into fantasy relevance. What else happened in Week 5?

Doug Martin Is Back

Doug Martin is officially back.

Martin served a four-game suspension to start the season and made his debut last Thursday in the Buccaneers' close loss to the Patriots. And it looks like the Doug Martin of old is back.

Martin rushed 13 times for 74 yards and a touchdown in his return to the field and looked good while doing so.

While his 13 rush attempts may not seem like a lot, they accounted for the vast majority -- more than 75 percent -- of the team's total carries. Charles Sims and Jacquizz Rodgers had just four combined rushing attempts.

Rodgers, who had been the lead runner up until last week, was essentially relegated to backup duties in Martin's first game back. Martin figured to thrive in any games that the Buccaneers face a positive game script.

This is great news for Martin, as there was no guarantee that he would walk right back into a workhorse role in the Bucs' offense. Sims predictably dominated the team's running back targets with seven looks, but it's important to note Martin also received three targets.

Martin's 5.69 yards per carry were far more efficient than his teammate's per-carry clips, but keep in mind that he was playing against the Patriots and their bottom-tier defense. He won't maintain that level of efficiency every week, but he made it clear on Thursday that the starting running back job is now his to lose.
