Fantasy Football: 4 Players You Can Drop After Week 5
Eric Ebron was thought to be a breakout candidate coming into the season, but he's been a major disappointment. Who else can be dropped from your roster?

Eric Ebron, TE, Detroit Lions

Eric Ebron was a trendy breakout candidate this offseason. The logic went that with the departure of Anquan Boldin from the Detroit Lions' roster, many of the middle of the field targets that Boldin thrived on in 2016 would find a home with Ebron in 2017.

But things just haven't worked out that way. Through five games, Ebron's only amassed more than 5 targets once, and he's only accrued more than 30 yards receiving once. While fourth on the team in targets, Ebron's currently sixth on the team in receiving yardage.

Ebron's been woefully inefficient compared to his tight end counterparts across the league, as well. Through the first four weeks of the season, Ebron's 0.39 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target ranked 16th among the 21 tight ends with at least 15 targets. Among that same group, his 57.89% catch rate ranked 18th and his 64% Reception Success Rate -- the percentage of receptions that contribute positively to NEP -- ranked 19th.

Put simply, Ebron isn't getting enough opportunity, and even when he's gotten opportunities, he's been really bad.

At a tight end position that, to this point, is streamable unless you own one of a few top-tier options, dump Ebron for someone like George Kittle, who is coming off of a big game and has a weak opponent against tight ends in Week 6.
