Fantasy Football: 4 Unexpectedly Great Week 5 Performances

Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers

NFL.com Start Percentage: 22%

Week 5 Fantasy Points: 19.4

Aaron Jones turned 19 carries into 125 yards and a touchdown during the Green Bay Packers' Week 5 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

That performance made him the RB3 (NFL.com scoring) for the week. Jamaal Williams, who had been the primary backup to injured starter Ty Montgomery, earned just a single rushing attempt.

There were some signs that a big role was in the works for Jones. Aaron Rodgers was impressed by Jones' performance when he was pressed into action in Week 4. During the week, we learned that Jones was practicing with the first-team offense and was being treated as the starter. On the season, Jones now has the best Success Rate (the percentage of runs that add positive expected points) among all Packers running backs.

But what about the future, man? What should we expect from Jones going forward, particularly when Montgomery gets back? It's hard telling, to be honest. What we do know is Jones got a huge workload in Week 5 and delivered big-time numbers. He may end up in a timeshare when TyMont gets healthy, but Jones' ceiling is super appealing.
