No, Andrew Luck isn't set to return to the field anytime soon, but Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle has asserted his relevance nonetheless.
Doyle now has 25 receptions and 2 touchdowns over his past three games, and on Sunday, he was dominant, catching 12 balls for 121 yards and a touchdown. His Performance Score of 89 led all tight ends in Week 8, and he now has double-digit fantasy points in two of his last three games.
His output against the Bengals was worth 18 fantasy points in standard-scoring formats, and Doyle is far and away the most targeted Colt by quarterback Jacoby Brissett over the past three weeks.
Without Luck, there certainly will be inconsistency, but isn't that the story for nearly every player at the tight end position? While Doyle isn't an exciting add, for teams struggling to find points at the position, he should be in consideration for your starting lineup in plus matchups.
And who knows, maybe Luck will miraculously descend from the heavens to lift this entire team to better things as the fantasy playoffs approach. It's certainly within the realm of possibility.
