Week 9 Game Scripts to Target in Daily Fantasy Football

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Dallas Cowboys

Over/Under: 51.5

Cowboys Implied Team Total: 26.25

Chiefs Implied Team Total: 25.25

The second of the potential shootouts on the slate, the Dallas Cowboys/Kansas City Chiefs matchup features the most fantasy-relevant players of any Week 9 contest. With an over/under of 51.5, and a 1-point spread, this figures to be a competitive, high-scoring affair. This is a fantastic contest to exploit in daily formats.

Dez Bryant, WR, Dallas Cowboys

FanDuel Price: $7,700

Dez Bryant has been inscrutable this season. While he's seen three games with 10-plus targets, he often disappears for long stretches and has disappointed in seemingly favorable situations. So why are we touting him this week? For starters, this isn't just a favorable matchup -- it's a premium one. Indeed, the Chiefs are allowing the most FanDuel points (33.7) to opposing wide receivers in the league.

The second reason is that this finally appears to be the week Ezekiel Elliott's suspension will begin. While things can always change between now and kickoff, the fact that Elliott's request for a preliminary injunction was denied by a federal judge indicates he's likely to sit this one out. In that instance, Bryant automatically becomes the Cowboys' offensive centerpiece and would see a heaping helping of targets.

This game has a sizable over/under, and Bryant is priced as the WR7 (tied). While he comes with a measure of risk, the potential reward is worth it.

Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys

FanDuel Price: $8,200

Once again, Elliott's absence will likely lead to a pass-heavy game script, and Dak Prescott has proven he can shoulder the load. Yes, he's coming off his least productive start of the season, but he's thrown for at least 2 scores in all but two contests this season. Prescott has put this team on his back at times, making big plays from outside the pocket over and over again.

The Chiefs pass defense has been up and down, but they are permitting the ninth-most FanDuel Points to opposing quarterbacks per contest (19.1) and have allowed 8 touchdown passes over their last two games on the road. The 'Boys are a 1-point home favorite in a projected shootout. The recipe is there for the sophomore signal caller to have a huge game.

Others to Consider

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated that Alfred Morris ($5,600) will lead the Cowboys' backfield in Zeke's absence. That sounds good on paper, but there's no way of knowing how much of the workload he'll actually handle, and the Chiefs are only surrendering 19.5 FanDuel Points (11th-least) per contest to opposing runners.

Alex Smith ($7,900) remains a viable MVP candidate and hasn't thrown a regular season interception since New Year's Day, despite displaying a newfound willingness to challenge downfield. The former alleged "game manager" has attempted more than 30 passes in all but two contests. Travis Kelce ($7,000) has recorded three 100-yard games this season. The veteran has also recorded four games with 40 or fewer receiving yards. The Cowboys defense has allowed the third-fewest FanDuel Points per game (7.4) to opposing tight ends this year.

Kareem Hunt ($9,000) is sensational, but has cooled down a little in recent weeks after a scorching start. The rookie has averaged fewer than 2.5 yards per carry in two of his last three contests and hasn't found the end zone since Week 3. A bounce-back is coming, but paying RB2 cost in a middle-of-the road matchup is a risky proposition.
